“Agony Aunt”: this expression is used to indicate someone who provides advices about personal problems, especially through magazines, on a regular basis.
But as “Aunt” and her suggestions would be off topic here, we decided to call this section “The Agony Ass”.
The Agony Ass
Since we started our ironic journey against HIV stigma in 2019, our blog has been targeted by haters who despise our stories or worse, they offend us personally.
What to do in that case? Showing discomfort or being in pain for them, would please them for sure; so, the best answer has been always the same: try to turn negativity into something positive (pun intended, of course).
Besides making fun of real or virtual bullies, The Agony Ass is here to help readers understand where prejudices and stereotypes come from, in order to make them become harmless.
Haters enjoy seeing us angry or uneasy with their words, we just want to prove them we are stronger.
